Fifty-three drivers who exhibited exemplary compliance with traffic rules and safety regulations were recognized by Abu Dhabi Police, in a touching tribute coinciding with the UAE's 53rd National Day. This initiative, a joint venture between the Happiness Patrol of Abu Dhabi Police and First Abu Dhabi Bank, not only celebrated safe driving but also the 'spirit of unity and pride that defines the nation'.
Lieutenant Colonel Nasser Abdullah Al Saadi, head of the Security Media Section at the Abu Dhabi Police, underscored the importance of the award, stating that the initiative was part of the broader festivities for the 53rd Union Day. As part of the Zayed and Rashid Initiative, gifts were distributed to the drivers, emphasizing values of positivity, community trust, and traffic safety. Al Saadi also stressed that these efforts are aimed at boosting traffic awareness and fostering a culture of safety, while also reflecting on the UAE's remarkable progress since its inception.
The initiative also served to reinforce the objectives of the Safety Path 2 campaign, which seeks to enhance road safety by educating the public on the significance of adhering to traffic laws, avoiding distractions while driving, and ensuring the safety of all road users. Al Saadi further urged drivers to maintain safe driving practices on the road and to avoid committing traffic violations.
The honored drivers expressed their appreciation, with many noting how the initiative added an extra layer of joy to the National Day celebrations.
