It's that enchanting time of year again when Al Wasl Plaza at Expo City Dubai metamorphoses into a Winter City. Officially commencing on Tuesday, December 6, and extending until December 31, the festive season commenced with the illumination of a colossal Christmas tree. This year’s Winter City guarantees something for everyone, brimming with seasonal allure. Guests of all ages can relish in meeting Santa, partake in delightful workshops orchestrated by cheerful elves, or leisurely stroll through a market imbued with a North Pole ambiance. “(They can also) venture into the toy factory, where a bit of holiday pandemonium has disrupted the order, and piles of gifts need to be sorted. Alternatively, they can assist Mrs Claus as she distinguishes the naughty from the nice,” the organizers mentioned.
A plethora of activities awaits both residents and tourists, encompassing decorating Christmas cookies, crafting cards, and producing other festive trinkets. Santa’s letterbox has returned, affording children the opportunity to dispatch their holiday wish lists. Each evening, one fortunate child will join Santa in lighting the Christmas tree, infusing the festivities with a unique charm, according to Expo City. Music aficionados will delight in the revitalized Carols by Candlelight concerts, where Expo City’s all-female Al Firdaus orchestra will perform Christmas classics, enhanced by vocal and dance performances from local schoolchildren.
Winter City at Expo City Dubai operates daily from 2pm to 10pm. Admission is set at Dh40 for adults, while entry is complimentary for children aged five and under, as well as individuals with determination. Certain activities and workshops may entail an additional charge.
