Warner Bros. Games has revealed that Season 4 will mark the final seasonal update for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. As part of this concluding season, an offline mode will be introduced, allowing players to delve into the game's campaign and seasonal story missions without requiring an internet connection. However, progress on battle passes, in-game purchases, and leaderboard access will still necessitate an online connection.
Season 4 is set to commence with Episode 7 on December 10 and will wrap up with Episode 8 on January 14, 2025. Warner Bros. Games has also confirmed that the online servers for the game will remain operational post-Season 4, and the in-game currency, LutherCoin, will continue to be available for purchase. The final season will feature Deathstroke as a new playable character, joining the Suicide Squad to confront Brainiac.
In May, Warner Bros. Discovery described Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League as a 'disappointing' release, citing financial underperformance that resulted in a $200 million shortfall. Despite this, the company remains committed to focusing on core franchises, with plans to expand into more live-service, mobile, and free-to-play games.
Reports suggest that developer Rocksteady Studios is providing minimal support for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League as it shifts its attention to new projects, including a director's cut version of Hogwarts Legacy. In GameSpot's review, it was noted that 'Rocksteady's first game in nearly a decade struggles to escape the superhero-as-a-service genre's inherent tendency to keep players passively engaged.'
