Developer MachineGames has just dropped the first patch for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and it's a doozy. The update introduces path tracing for select Nvidia cards, refines whip mechanics, and addresses a slew of gameplay issues, all outlined in the comprehensive patch notes below.
On Bethesda's official site, MachineGames unveiled a plethora of enhancements for the action-adventure title, with path tracing for PC gamers taking center stage. This feature, which the developer confirms is also in the pipeline for AMD cards, is essentially an advanced version of ray tracing. This means more lifelike lighting and reflections, but it comes with a hardware requirement: at least 12GB of VRAM.
It's worth noting that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle already impresses on consoles with ray tracing and a consistent 60fps performance, as highlighted by Digital Foundry. Ray tracing is already a cornerstone of the game's visual experience.
MachineGames didn't stop at graphics. They also tackled other visual quirks, such as making Indy's whip behave more authentically when attached to his belt.
