UAE resident and JGE member Tommy Fleetwood is currently tied for ninth place overall and shares the top spot with fellow JGE member Paul Waring on the UAE resident's leaderboard after two rounds of the 2024 DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates.

At the conclusion of the second round of the $10 million DP World Tour Championship, UAE residents Paul Waring and Tommy Fleetwood made a significant impact, tying for ninth place on the mini-leaderboard. The championship, hosted at the renowned Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai, has attracted some of the world's finest golf talent, and these two Jumeirah Golf Estates members are proving their mettle against the global elite. Paul Waring (England) delivered a steady performance with a 71, bringing his total to five under par, while Tommy Fleetwood (England), who operates his Tommy Fleetwood Academy at JGE, shot a four-under-par 68 to complement his opening 71. The duo now shares a commendable ninth position on the leaderboard, highlighting their expertise and experience on their home course.

Adrian Otaegui of Spain, a crowd favorite in the UAE, is also performing solidly, consistently delivering impressive golf throughout the tournament. With rounds of 71 and 69, Otaegui is tied for 12th place at four under par, just five strokes behind the leader, Adrian Rozner of France. Another Dubai-based LIV golfer, Adrian Meronk (Poland), is in tied 27th, slipping 16 spots after his first-round 70, followed by a 73. Thorbjorn Oleson (Denmark) also faltered with a 75, dropping 26 spots to one over par, while Scot Ewen Ferguson failed to break par again and is in 40th place at two over par. Recent Dubai Golden Visa recipient, Julien Guerrier (France), improved on his first-round 76 by shooting a one-under-par 71, tying for 41st place at three over par. Guerrier has a crucial weekend ahead, as do many others in the field, on multiple fronts. He is currently 25th in the season-long DP World Tour’s Race to Dubai.

On Sunday night, the top 25 players in the season-ending Race to Dubai will receive exemptions to play in The 2025 Open at Royal Portrush Golf Club, Northern Ireland in July. The tournament offers a prize fund of $10 million, along with a Race to Dubai Bonus Pool for the top players. Additionally, participants can earn valuable Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) points and other rewards. This is the final week of the season, making it a critical time for the players. However, it’s important to note that the off-season is very brief. The first event of the 2024-2025 Race to Dubai season begins in just six days.

On Thursday, November 21, 2024, the BMW Australian Championship will take place at Royal Queensland Golf Club in Brisbane, Australia. There is ample time for players, caddies, officials, TV, and media to relax, recharge, travel to Australia, and prepare for the next event! Aaron Cockerill (Canada), who represents The Els Club, Dubai, is currently the strongest player in the field and the ‘worst player on Earth’ after rounds of 77 and 74, placing him in 50th position – but there is still a long way to go, as it is only halftime at the moment. Round three commences on Saturday with ‘Moving Day’ at 8.20 am, with players in two-ball groups, all 50 players teeing off from tee one, with the leaders out last at 12.35 pm, featuring the pairing of Rozner and Rory McIlroy. We hope you can catch the action live or on TV – either way, it's an event you won't want to miss!
