Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 has already made a significant impact this year, though perhaps not in the manner that developer Asobo Studio anticipated. The game launched earlier this week with a plethora of bugs and performance problems, rendering it nearly unplayable for many users. As a result, Flight Simulator 2024 has faced a wave of negative reviews on Steam. In response, Asobo Studio is now assuring players that the team is working tirelessly to address these issues.

In a recent statement on X, Asobo Studio acknowledged that they have increased the server capacity for Flight Simulator 2024, but 'access issues persist.' Many of the game's problems can be traced back to Asobo's underestimation of the server infrastructure required to maintain smooth gameplay. The sheer volume of players attempting to access the game has overwhelmed the servers. The team also expressed their apologies to the players and pledged to continue their efforts in resolving these issues.

In a brief video on YouTube, Asobo CEO Sebastian Wloch provided further insight into the server failures, despite the team's attempt to stress test the system by simulating 200,000 players simultaneously. According to Wloch, the team attempted to mitigate the issue by restricting the number of players, which 'worked well for about half an hour before the cache collapsed again.' Wloch continued, 'So we're restarting. We're investigating the issue, doing our best, and moving as quickly as possible to ensure everyone can access the game.'

Currently, there is no specific timeline for when the server issues in Flight Simulator 2024 will be fully resolved. It has been a challenging journey so far, but hopefully, the dedicated team at Asobo will manage to overcome these obstacles.
