A Florida-based race shop is currently engaged in a battle against an old adversary—time. Unlike the usual challenges of completing a build before a major race or improving lap times, the shop is now focused on locating its stolen semi-trailer before it disappears forever. Authorities have already retrieved the tractor, but the trailer, which contained $1.5 million worth of cars and equipment, is still missing. The theft occurred early Sunday morning around 3 AM in Pompano Beach, Florida, north of Miami. Two individuals entered Rennnsport-One's parking lot and made off with the semi and trailer within 20 minutes. Although the truck was equipped with a GPS tracker, the last signal was received a few hours later in the southwest Miami area. The tractor was discovered abandoned on a residential property about 70 miles from the shop on Monday. The Broward Sheriff's Office continues to search for the trailer, and Justin Bellinzoni, the owner of the business, has enlisted the help of a private investigator. The trailer holds four Porsche race cars, parts, and various equipment, and the company is now seeking alternatives to meet its customer commitments. Anyone with information is urged to contact Broward Crime Stoppers or call 954-493-TIPS.
