Dubai-based airline flydubai declared on Tuesday that it has adjusted its flight services to Beirut, Lebanon, due to the rising tensions between Israel and Hezbollah. Lebanon was on high alert following the Golan attack over the weekend, with Tel Aviv accusing Hezbollah of the assault on a soccer field in the Israel-controlled Golan Heights, a claim Hezbollah has denied.
"flydubai has modified its flight timetable to Beirut Airport (BEY) and will conduct two daily flights until August 2. We are closely observing the situation," a flydubai representative stated in a comment to Khaleej Times. Numerous nations globally have urged both sides to decrease tensions and prevent clashes. Foreign embassies in Lebanon are expediting the evacuation of their personnel from the country.
Several other airlines have also either canceled or postponed their flights to Beirut. This includes Lebanon's Middle East Airlines, Lufthansa, Swiss International Airlines, and Eurowing. flydubai has recommended passengers to frequently check their flight status.
