Flydubai has revealed plans to take delivery of seven new aircraft by the end of 2024 and aims to recruit over 130 additional pilots by the year's end. In a recent announcement, the airline highlighted that these new additions will facilitate the expansion of its network to include Basel, Riga, Tallinn, and Vilnius.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of Flydubai, commented, "Flydubai now boasts a team of over 5,800 professionals from 140 different nationalities, with more than 1,200 being pilots. We are committed to hiring over 130 new pilots by the end of this year." Al Ghaith also mentioned that the airline has expanded its staff by more than 440 employees this year, representing a 6% increase from the previous year. He emphasized the continuous recruitment efforts to bring in more skilled individuals to support the company's growth.
Al Ghaith further noted, "From our base in Dubai, Flydubai has established a network of over 125 destinations in 58 countries, operating with a fleet of 88 efficient Boeing 737 aircraft." He also pointed out the airline's focus on attracting young Emirati talent, reinforcing their dedication to Emiratisation by integrating these individuals into various roles across the company.
In a significant milestone, Flydubai made its inaugural wide-body aircraft order for 30 Boeing 787-9s at the 2023 Dubai Airshow, marking a pivotal moment in the airline's history.
