Square Enix has revealed that Foamstars will not receive any new season updates after the upcoming one concludes on January 17, 2025. Nevertheless, a final update will introduce several fresh gameplay features. This update will enable players to customize shots of each other and incorporate new enhancements such as Prism Gems. Additionally, a series of in-game events named after each character, called Foamstars Cup, will be introduced.
Fortunately, the game's servers will remain operational for the foreseeable future, and previous season passes will be re-released. This allows players to switch between season passes at will, ensuring they can unlock the corresponding items whenever they choose. The forthcoming and final season of Foamstars, titled Party Goes On, kicks off on December 13 and concludes on January 17. This season will feature Nier: Automata skins for characters Soa and Agito, who will don the costumes of 2B and 9S, respectively.
Foamstars, a Splatoon-like shooter, was initially exclusive to PlayStation consoles. Launched in February, the game was free for PlayStation Plus subscribers for the first month, after which it was priced at $30. However, Square Enix announced in October that the game had transitioned to a free-to-play model.
