Thick fog has prompted red and yellow alerts in various regions of the UAE on Thursday morning. The National Centre of Meteorology also forecasts a possibility of afternoon rain. Residents have been warned of reduced visibility until 9am, which may further decrease in coastal and inland areas.
Abu Dhabi Police have advised drivers to be cautious due to the foggy conditions, urging them to adhere to the dynamically changing speed limits shown on electronic signs. The speed limit on several key roads in the capital has been lowered to 80km/h, including Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Intl. road, Sweihan road, Mohammed Bin Rashid road, and Maktoum Bin Rashid road.
Today's weather is anticipated to be generally fair with occasional partial cloudiness, and there may be some cloud formation eastward. Humidity is expected to lead to fog or mist in some coastal and inland areas in the morning. Light to moderate winds are forecasted, occasionally strong enough to cause dust storms.
The sea conditions are expected to be calm in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea. Temperatures are likely to range from a low of 26°C to a high of 49°C in various parts of the UAE.
