Red and yellow alerts were issued this morning to warn UAE residents of foggy weather conditions, while rainfall is expected in some parts of the country. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) reported that fog formation might persist until 9am, cautioning about reduced horizontal visibility.
Abu Dhabi Police urged motorists to drive with caution due to the reduced visibility caused by the fog. Drivers were advised to follow the changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards. Subsequently, speed limits were reduced to 80 km/h on several key roads, including:
Abu Dhabi Al Ain (Al Khatam - Razeen)
Abu Dhabi Al Ain (Al Wathba - Al Faya)
Abu Dhabi Sweihan Road (Civil Defence Roundabout - Sweihan Roundabout)
Abu Dhabi Al Ain (Rumah - Al Khazna)
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Road (Kizad - Saih Al Sedira)
Al Taff road (Sweihan roundabout - Al saad)
Sweihan road (Nahil - Abu Dhabi)
Al Taff road (Al saad - Al Ajban)
The weather is anticipated to be fairly cloudy, with a chance of rainfall as convective clouds may develop over some eastern and southern regions by the afternoon. Humid conditions are expected during the night and on Wednesday morning, with a likelihood of fog or mist formation in some coastal and internal areas. The humidity level is forecasted to peak at 90% in coastal areas and drop to 15% in mountainous regions. Winds will be light to moderate, occasionally freshening, while the sea will be moderate to slight in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea.
Temperatures are expected to reach 37°C in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, with a low of 19°C in mountainous areas and a high of 40°C in internal regions.
