If you own a Ranger Raptor or Bronco Raptor and are seeking enhanced power without resorting to aftermarket modifications, Ford has a solution tailored for you. The company offers a software recalibration specifically designed for the EcoBoost 3.0-liter engine, which significantly boosts horsepower and torque. This upgrade, available through Ford Performance Parts, provides substantial power increases at an affordable cost.
For the pickup truck, this recalibration unlocks an additional 50 horsepower and 106 pound-feet of torque, elevating the twin-turbo V6 of the 2024 Ranger Raptor to 455 hp and 536 lb-ft. Additionally, Ford promises improved throttle response and better gearing for the 10-speed automatic transmission, enhancing the overall driving experience.
The 2023-2024 Bronco Raptor also benefits from these software enhancements, gaining an extra 37 hp and 96 lb-ft, matching the Ranger Raptor's output of 455 hp and 536 lb-ft when upgraded. Initially, the Bronco Raptor might lag slightly in horsepower and torque but catches up once the software recalibration is applied.
Ford charges $825 for this upgrade, which is considered reasonable given the significant power boost. A discount of 20% is available for attendees of the Raptor Rally, priced at $500, scheduled for September 21 near the Ford Performance Racing School in Fairfield, Utah. This discount can also be used for purchasing select accessories from the Ford Performance Parts catalog.
The software recalibration can be purchased online through Ford Performance Parts and is applied at a dealership. Importantly, this in-house tune does not void the vehicle's warranty, ensuring the three-year, 36,000-mile Ford Performance Parts coverage remains intact.
Other Ford models like the 2020-2024 Explorer ST, 2018-2023 Mustang EcoBoost, and the regular 2021-2024 Bronco (2.3L and 2.7L Ecoboost) also offer similar plug-and-play upgrades.
