Last year, Epic Games reintroduced Fortnite's original island through a month-long event known as Fortnite OG. The opportunity to relive the game's earliest iteration was immensely popular among players, and recent reports indicate that Fortnite OG will be making a permanent comeback starting in December.
Fortnite leakers ShiinaBR and HypeX were the first to break the news. The initial 10 seasons of Fortnite, which together form Chapter 1, are expected to return on a monthly rotation, with only the original in-game items being supported. Furthermore, both the battle royale mode and Zero Build modes of Fortnite will be integrated into OG.
When Fortnite OG debuted in 2023, it attracted over 44.7 million users on its launch day, marking the most significant single-day engagement in the game's history. This overwhelming response undoubtedly influenced the decision to reintroduce Fortnite OG alongside the current version of the game.
While Epic Games has not yet confirmed these developments, the report hints that an official announcement might take place during the Fortnite Remix finale on November 30 or at The Game Awards on December 13. This potential reveal is also likely to coincide with the anticipated launch of Chapter 6's map.
Before Fortnite Remix Chapter 2 concludes, rapper Eminem will make a return to the game on November 7. Players who manage to defeat Eminem in battle will earn his new Mythic RG Minigun, which can fire both bullets and lines from Eminem's songs. Additionally, Fortnite Chapter 6 is scheduled to launch on December 1, shortly after the Remix finale event ends.
