A group of four Arab individuals was apprehended in Sharjah for the theft of 1,840 laptops, valued at over Dh1 million, according to police reports on Thursday. The arrest occurred within 48 hours of the robbery.
An Asian employee of a transportation and delivery services firm recounted that he was en route to deliver the laptops when the gang intercepted him in an industrial zone, masquerading as police officers. He later realized he had fallen victim to a scam.
Following the report of the fraud to the Central Operations Room, the Sharjah Police swiftly located and detained the suspects within two days. "Upon confirming the details, a squad of officers promptly initiated the investigation," stated Col Abdul Rahman Nasser Al Shamsi, the deputy director of the Criminal Investigations Department at the Sharjah Police. "Utilizing the information they had compiled, they identified the suspects, closely observed them, and subsequently arrested them, ensuring they faced justice," he added.
