Foxy Brown, Jay-Z's former protégé, appeared to subtly comment on the recent rape allegations against the Roc Nation founder. The 46-year-old rapper shared posts on her Instagram Stories that read "WOW" and "WAIT" accompanied by a shocked face emoji on Monday. Her third and final Instagram Story slide featured a cold face emoji. The Post has contacted Brown's representative for comment, but she has not confirmed whether her posts were related to the accusations against Jay-Z, who is 55 and whose real name is Shawn Carter. Jay-Z has denied the allegations.
Brown, whose real name is Inga DeCarlo Fung Marchand, frequently collaborated with Jay-Z, including on her 1996 hit "I'll Be." She was signed to Def Jam Recordings while Jay-Z was president of the label. In October, Brown publicly refuted claims that she had a sexual relationship with Jay-Z while underage and that he made her sign a non-disclosure agreement. "NDA? Ain't a MF alive that could stop my story. NDA on my sh*t gon run 100 mil," she wrote on Instagram, according to Billboard. "Stop playin' wit ma name dyin' for a comment! Can't spin me with the sucker sh*t to take Hov down. Betta ask 'bout tha cloth I'm cut from... Y'all want me to be anti-Hov so bad," she added.
On Sunday, Jay-Z was named as a defendant in a lawsuit initially filed in October against Sean "Diddy" Combs, 55, who is facing federal charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. The amended complaint, filed in New York on December 8, identifies the plaintiff only as Jane Doe. She alleges that she was invited to an afterparty by Combs' alleged limo driver while trying to enter the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards in New York City. Upon arrival at the afterparty residence, she claims she was asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement. During the event, Jane Doe alleges she was drugged and raped by Jay-Z and then by Combs while others watched.
Jay-Z has denied the "heinous" allegations, calling the lawsuit a "blackmail attempt" and vowing to fight it. He also expressed concern for his family, including his wife, Beyoncé, 43, and their three children—Blue Ivy, 12, and twins Rumi and Sir, 7. "My wife and I will have to sit our children down, one of whom is at the age where her friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these claims, and explain the cruelty and greed of people," he said. "I mourn yet another loss of innocence. Children should not have to endure such at their young age. It is unfair to have to try to understand inexplicable degrees of malice meant to destroy families and human spirit," he added.
Despite the accusations, Jay-Z attended the "Mufasa: The Lion King" premiere in Hollywood, California, on Monday night, posing on the red carpet with Beyoncé, Blue Ivy, and his mother-in-law, Tina Knowles. The Post reached out to Jay-Z and Beyoncé's team for comment. Meanwhile, Combs remains in a Brooklyn detention center after being arrested in September on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty and is set to go to trial in May 2025.
