BioWare has launched a free timed trial for Dragon Age: The Veilguard, enabling anyone with an EA Play subscription to explore the game for a limited period without any additional cost. This offer is also extended to Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, as EA Play is included in the service.

The timed trial allows players to experience the full game but restricts gameplay to five hours. Notably, time spent in the in-game character creator counts towards the five-hour limit. However, users can utilize the standalone character creator tool to craft their hero outside the game and then import them into the game on the same device or console.

EA Play is available for $6 per month or $40 annually, while EA Play Pro costs $17 per month or $120 per year. Pro members receive various extras for The Veilguard, such as cosmetic items and armor sets. Once the five-hour trial concludes, players can opt to purchase The Veilguard to continue their journey. Currently, the game is discounted to $50 on Amazon—click the link below for more details.

The Veilguard was released on October 31 by developer BioWare. The studio has no plans for expansion content, as the team focuses on the next Mass Effect. However, BioWare is preparing another update slated for early 2025, though its contents remain undisclosed.

With nearly a decade separating Dragon Age: Inquisition and The Veilguard, BioWare acknowledged that the game might not fully meet the high expectations. GameSpot's review of Dragon Age: The Veilguard awarded the game an 8/10 score.
