During The Game Awards, From Software revealed that they are not finished with Elden Ring. Elden Ring Nightreign is set to release in 2025, described as a cooperative action game. The trailer showcased players teaming up to defeat massive bosses and engaging in battles against each other. It also featured locations from both Elden Ring and Dark Souls 3, hinting at a potential blend of environments.
While the specifics of Elden Ring Nightreign remain unclear, it is known to focus on cooperative gameplay. It is not an update to Elden Ring but includes some PvP elements. The trailer also displayed a blue wall of fire traversing the landscape, reminiscent of the closing rings in battle royale games. Additionally, there was a brief appearance of Melina, the Maiden companion from Elden Ring, in what seems to be a new dialogue scene.
Described as a "standalone experience," Elden Ring Nightreign is slated for release on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC in 2025. Elden Ring's first and only major expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, released earlier this year and has been nominated for multiple awards at The Game Awards.
