The “Full House” cast remains a tight-knit family. John Stamos expressed his affection for his “brother” Dave Coulier on Instagram Wednesday, following Coulier’s announcement that he has been diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. Stamos, 61, shared a heartfelt tribute featuring various photos of the duo over the years, accompanied by a touching message to his long-time friend.

“My brother from day 1. Love you @dcoulier and I’ll be by your side through it all,” Stamos wrote in his caption. Stamos and Coulier first met while playing Uncle Jesse and Uncle Joey, respectively, on “Full House,” which aired from 1987 to 1995. The images posted by Stamos included both vintage and recent snapshots of the pair. In one tender photo, Stamos embraced Coulier as they lay in bed together. Another picture featured Stamos, Coulier, and their late co-star Bob Saget, who passed away at age 65 in January 2022 due to blunt head trauma.

Coulier’s wife, Melissa Bring Coulier, responded to Stamos’ heartfelt post in the comments section, writing, “Love you PP – thank you for the daily support and love!! ❤️❤️.” Fans also chimed in, expressing their support and admiration for the enduring friendship between Stamos and Coulier.

Coulier revealed on Wednesday that he was diagnosed with stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma five weeks ago. He described the feeling as being “punched in the stomach” and noted that he started chemotherapy two weeks after his diagnosis. Coulier also shaved his head as a “preemptive strike” in his battle against cancer. He further discussed his diagnosis on the “Full House Rewind” podcast, emphasizing his decision to face the challenge head-on and openly discuss his journey.

Coulier informed his “Full House” castmates, including Stamos, Jodie Sweetin, Lori Loughlin, Candace Cameron Bure, and Andrea Barber, about his diagnosis to ensure they heard the news directly from him. He received an “immediate” and “overwhelming” response of support from all of them. Two months before his diagnosis, Coulier expressed his desire to participate in another “Full House” reunion project, suggesting a show that would blend present-day scenarios with flashbacks to the original series.
