The G4D (Golf for the Disabled) Tour, in collaboration with EDGA (formerly the European Disabled Golf Association), is in full swing for the 2024 calendar season, culminating in November at Jumeirah Golf Estates alongside the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai.

The G4D Tour Series Finale @ DP World Tour Championship is scheduled for 15th – 16th November, 2024 at the Earth course. Last year’s event, played over a reduced 18 holes due to inclement weather, saw Mike Browne (Eng) emerge victorious with a score of one under par.

The G4D Tour, introduced in 2022, has implemented a selection process for the 2023 – 24 season tournaments based on both the Gross and Net World Rankings for Golfers with a Disability (WR4GD). These rankings are endorsed by The R&A and the United States Golf Association, aiming to foster the global growth of golf.

Tony Bennett, President of EDGA, emphasized the inclusive nature of the G4D Tour, stating, “In G4D, elite performance is not solely determined by low scores, but by consistently executing a complex blend of physical, sensory, cognitive, and emotional skills in order to achieve one’s potential.”

EDGA, currently comprising 36 National Golf Federations globally, has a strong calendar of events across various countries, promoting golf for individuals with disabilities.

For participation in the G4D Tour, Gross players must have a World Handicap System (WHS) or equivalent handicap not exceeding 3.4 for males, 7.4 for females, or recognized professional status. Net players, on the other hand, are required to have a WHS or equivalent handicap not exceeding 14.4 for males and 18.4 for females.

The DP World Tour and European Tour Group, in conjunction with EDGA and their partners, continue to provide financial support and have been instrumental in raising awareness, organizing tournaments, and facilitating golf development and coach education worldwide.

Current G4D Tour events have been aligned with DP World Tour events in various locations, with forthcoming events scheduled in the UK and Spain, leading up to the G4D Tour Series Finale at the DP World Tour Championship.
