The Game Awards unveiled an announcement trailer for the upcoming mobile RPG based on the beloved HBO series, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad. Developed by Netmarble, the game presents a fresh, original narrative set during the turbulent fourth season of the original Game of Thrones series. As the heir to House Tyre, a noble northern family, players must carve their own path through the treacherous world of the game of thrones, all while avoiding the metaphorical chopping block.
Players will have the opportunity to customize their character, choosing from one of three distinct classes—Sellsword, Knight, or Assassin—and navigate the complex political landscape of Westeros. Additionally, they will master the unique combat mechanics associated with their chosen profession. "We believe Game of Thrones is a universe brimming with untold tales and adventures, and we’re thrilled to bring Westeros to life in a new and exciting way for gamers," stated Netmarble CEO Young-sig Kwon during the announcement.
Game of Thrones: Kingsroad is slated for a mobile release in 2025, with plans for additional platforms yet to be finalized.
