Coco Gauff and Katerina Siniakova secured the French Open women's doubles championship on Sunday, triumphing 7-6(5) 6-3 against Italian duo Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini, following Paolini's disheartening singles final defeat. This marked Siniakova's eighth Grand Slam doubles title and Gauff's inaugural win. Their partnership was hastily arranged just days prior to the tournament commencement, due to Jessica Pegula's withdrawal from the event. Gauff expressed gratitude, stating, 'Thank you Katerina for playing with me, we decided to do it two days before the tournament started.' She added, 'It was very last-minute, I wasn't planning on playing doubles, so thank you for asking me.' Paolini, reflecting on her 6-2 6-1 loss to Iga Swiatek, appeared disheartened. The 28-year-old shared, 'It's been two very intense weeks for me, very nice but very emotional. I have a lot of memories and I can't wait to be back here.'
