Adani Group founder Gautam Adani addressed the recent allegations made by US authorities regarding a $265 million bribery scheme for the first time on Saturday, emphasizing his company's dedication to regulatory compliance of the highest standard.
"Less than two weeks ago, we encountered allegations from the US concerning compliance practices at Adani Green Energy. This is not the first time we have faced such challenges," Adani stated during a live-streamed speech at an awards ceremony.
"What I can assure you is that each attack strengthens us, and every obstacle transforms into a stepping stone for a more resilient Adani Group," Adani remarked in Jaipur, a city in northern India. The Adani Group has firmly denied the US allegations, labeling them as "baseless" and pledging to pursue "all possible legal recourse."
"In today's world, negativity often spreads more rapidly than facts, and as we navigate through the legal process, I want to reiterate our unwavering commitment to world-class regulatory compliance," Adani said in his speech, without providing further specifics. The Adani Group's finance chief dismissed the allegations on Friday, while the Indian government stated it has not received any formal request from the US regarding the case.
