After nearly 25 years, Gladiator 2 made its long-awaited debut in theaters on November 22. However, even before its theatrical run had properly begun, retailers were already taking preorders for the upcoming 4K Blu-ray release. Amazon is offering multiple versions, including a collectible steelbook edition priced at $51 and a standard edition.

Set 20 years after the original Gladiator, the sequel follows Lucius (Paul Mescal), the son of the first film's hero, Maximus (Russell Crowe). Lucius is captured when the Roman Empire attacks Carthage and, like his father before him, is forced to train as a gladiator. The film also features an impressive cast, including Pedro Pascal, Denzel Washington, Joseph Quinn, and Connie Nielsen. Early reviews have been positive, with many critics hailing it as a fitting follow-up to Ridley Scott's original masterpiece.

For fans of the original, the 4K steelbook edition of Gladiator has been reprinted and is currently available on Amazon for $28 (down from $31). Walmart also lists the Steelbook edition for $20, though it is currently out of stock. If Amazon's Steelbook sells out, the standard 4K Blu-ray edition, which includes both the theatrical and unrated cuts, is available for $28. Additionally, a double-feature package featuring 4K versions of Gladiator and Mel Gibson's Braveheart is on sale for $24 (originally $34).

Several other films are also receiving limited-edition 4K Blu-ray releases to celebrate major anniversaries. These include critically acclaimed titles like Christopher Nolan's Interstellar, Bong Joon-Ho's Snow Piercer, and David Fincher's Seven, as well as cult favorites such as Constantine and The Last Witch Hunter. All are available for preorder now.
