Tickets for the 2025 Glastonbury Festival sold out in just 35 minutes on Sunday, with over 200,000 attendees expected at the world-famous musical event in rural southwest England. Sales commenced at 9.00am (0900 GMT), and by 9.35am, event organizers announced on social media platform X that "Tickets for Glastonbury 2025 have now sold out." They expressed gratitude to those who secured tickets and sympathy for those who missed out, noting the morning's high demand. A resale of any cancelled or returned tickets is planned for spring 2025.
British-Albanian pop star Dua Lipa and indie-rock band Coldplay are among the 2024 headliners, with discussions already underway to book acts for the 2025 festival, scheduled from June 25 to 29. The sight of thousands of tents at Worthy Farm in the village of Pilton has become a hallmark of British summer since the festival's inception in 1970.

The festival, featuring around 3,000 performances across 80 stages, also includes all-night parties, art installations, and vibrant parades. The standard ticket for the 2025 event was priced at £373.50 ($471.50). Inspired by Britain's 1960s counterculture and hippie movements, the festival began as the Pilton Festival in 1970 with glam rockers T.Rex as the first headliners. Since then, it has drawn a cult following and big names like David Bowie, Paul McCartney, Stormzy, and Elton John, who played his final UK gig last year. Organizer Emily Eavis has announced a break in 2026 to "give the land a rest."
