In a unique assembly dedicated to global harmony and unity, leaders, diplomats, and peace advocates came together at the #IamPeace- Global Peace Conference, Dubai 2024. This event, hosted by the International Spiritual Council for Transforming Humanity (ISCTH) and supported by Etisalat Academy and Maitribodh Parivaar, was held in celebration of International Peace Day. The conference united voices from various sectors to promote sustainable peace under the theme “Inner Peace to World Peace.” It facilitated constructive dialogue and innovative solutions to pave the way for enduring peace.

The primary objective of the conference was to establish a platform where ideas could thrive, partnerships could be forged, and lasting solutions could be developed to tackle the root causes of conflict. A keynote address by Mitr Parn, a founding member of ISCTH and a direct disciple of Maitreya Dadashreeji, inspired attendees with profound insights into achieving inner peace. Parn emphasized, “Today, we gather to sow the seed of peace within ourselves, nurturing it so that we can collectively seek sustainable and comprehensive solutions for lasting global harmony. While external practical solutions are essential, true progress begins with each of us cultivating inner peace. Only from this foundation can we build a world that reflects our shared values of tranquility and understanding.”

Other speakers echoed Parn’s sentiments, stressing that world peace hinges on personal transformation. Bishop Paolo Martinelli highlighted the importance of empathy and compassion in problem-solving, suggesting that recognizing each other’s struggles and being willing to listen are the first steps toward a peaceful world. Satish Sivan, consul-general of India to Dubai, underscored the urgency of achieving peace in contemporary times, while prominent businessman Surender Singh Kandhari emphasized the need for a culture of peace that includes values, attitudes, and behaviors.

A panel of distinguished leaders and experts, including Khalid Al Awadhi, Mahesh Advani, and Dr Taghrid Zuhdi Mohamed, discussed strategies for effective peacebuilding in a diverse, globalized world. The discussions, moderated by Kaivalya Kasyap, president of ISCTH, delved into critical issues related to peacebuilding.

The UAE’s role in promoting global peace was highly commended during the conference. Speakers noted that the UAE serves as a model of peaceful coexistence among people from diverse nationalities. With over 200 nationalities residing in the country, its efforts to foster tolerance and inclusivity were seen as exemplary. The UAE’s ability to unite people from different backgrounds while maintaining peace and harmony was recognized as a significant achievement. The country’s global efforts in supporting peace were highlighted as a model for other nations to follow.

Several distinguished attendees underscored the conference’s importance on the global stage. Notable participants included His Excellency Brigadier Nasser Kadim Al Kaabi, Dr Faisal Shaheen Al Hammadi, and officials from the Ministry of Culture and the Emirates Red Crescent Authority.

Cultural events honoring the peace and unity theme were also part of the conference. The Emirates Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Dubai Police Music Band provided musical performances that resonated with the audience’s hopes for harmony. Visual arts featuring works by both local and international artists depicted themes of peace. Additionally, a family bazaar showcased handmade items, fostering a sense of community.

The conference served as a call to unite humanity through a growing movement of universal peace and love, promoting peace consciousness and cultivating a culture of peace that encompasses values, attitudes, and behaviors.
