GMC introduces the 2025 Yukon, a full-size SUV undergoing a mid-cycle refresh with minor exterior alterations, significant interior upgrades, and enhanced diesel engine performance. The highlight is the new AT4 Ultimate trim, which elevates the luxury of the off-road-oriented model.
The interior transformation is most noticeable with the introduction of a new 16.8-inch portrait-style central touchscreen, which supports user customization for various functions including maps and audio. This new screen is standard, and an optional 8.0-inch landscape screen for the second row is available for climate control settings. The dashboard has been redesigned with vertical vents on either side of the screen, and while the layout has changed, a row of buttons remains at the base for frequently used features.
GMC has not introduced extensive new technology to complement the screen update, but there are additional standard driver-assist features such as rear cross-traffic braking and front pedestrian and bicyclist braking. Optional features include Super Cruise hands-free driving and Night Vision with thermal detection.
Under the hood, the Yukon retains its previous engine lineup, with the exception of the turbocharged 3.0-liter Duramax inline-six diesel, now available across all trims including AT4, offering increased power at 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque. The towing capacity remains at 8,400 pounds.
The AT4 Ultimate is the newest addition to the Yukon range, featuring luxury enhancements such as exclusive leather seats and wood trim, along with functional upgrades like a front skid plate, 20-inch wheels, and an air-ride suspension that can elevate the vehicle by up to two inches. The Denali Ultimate remains the flagship model, equipped with 24-inch wheels, a 22-speaker Bose stereo, and 16-way massaging front seats.
Exterior changes are minimal, with new stacked headlights and larger C-shaped running lights, all surrounding a distinctive grille that varies by trim. GMC's SUV lineup is now complete with the updated 2025 Yukon, following the introduction of the all-new Acadia and next-gen Terrain.
Pricing for the 2025 GMC Yukon will be disclosed later this year, with an anticipated starting MSRP in the low $60,000 range. The top-tier Denali Ultimate, which already starts at around $105,000 for the 2024 model, is expected to see a price increase for the 2025 version.
