Custom officials in India recently intercepted a passenger, Vikneshvaran Raja, arriving from Dubai at Chennai airport due to his suspicious behavior, as reported by Chennai Customs on X. Upon inspecting his baggage, officials discovered approximately 3.99 kgs of gold concealed within a coffee-maker. The gold was seized under the Customs Act, 1962, and the passenger was arrested and placed in judicial custody. The confiscated gold is valued at Rs 2.61 crore (Dh1,140,716).
