C P Radhakrishnan, the Governor of Maharashtra, inaugurated one of the world’s largest B2B gem & jewellery shows, the India International Jewellery Show (IIJS) Premiere 2024, organized by The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) at the JIO World Convention Centre in Mumbai. Mangal Prabhat Lodha, the Hon. Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship of Maharashtra, attended the significant event.
Vipul Shah, Chairman of GJEPC, along with Shri Kirit Bhansali, Vice Chairman, Shri Nirav Bhansali, Convener-National Exhibitions, and the Committee of Administration (COA), welcomed distinguished guests including Paul Rowley, Executive Vice President of Diamond Trading at De Beers Group, Shri Paul Alukka, MD of Jos Alukkas, and Shri Dilip Gaur, Business Director of Novel Jewels at Aditya Birla Group. GJEPC’s brand ambassador, Manushi Chhillar, added a glamorous touch to the inauguration.
The IIJS Premiere 2024, themed 'Brilliant Bharat', will be held from 8-12 August at the JIO World Convention Centre and from 9-13 August at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, NESCO Goregaon, Mumbai. With over 3,600 stalls and 2,100 exhibitors, the show is expected to attract over 50,000 buyers from India and more than 2,000 from over 60 countries.
C P Radhakrishnan expressed his confidence in GJEPC's IIJS becoming the largest gem & jewellery show globally, praising the council's efforts in expanding the event annually. He urged GJEPC to continue promoting Brand India worldwide, showcasing India's rich culture and heritage.
Vipul Shah highlighted the show's scale, expecting over 50,000 trade visitors from India and 60+ countries, with 15 international delegations. He noted the transformative impact of the recent Union Budget 2024 on the industry, aiming to establish India as a global rough diamond trading hub.
Manushi Chhillar, GJEPC’s Brand Ambassador, praised the show as a testament to India's unmatched jewellery craftsmanship and its role in representing the nation's rich heritage. She emphasized IIJS's significance as the driving force behind India's jewellery industry, leading it to global recognition.
The Brilliant Bharat theme at IIJS includes nine curated exhibitions, each symbolizing a unique aspect of Indian heritage, celebrating the artistic excellence of Indian jewellery and its cultural stories.
