After more than a decade in the making, expectations for Grand Theft Auto 6 are soaring, and Rockstar Games is feeling the heat. This anticipation has been cleverly parodied on the PlayStation Store with a listing for 'Grand Taking Ages 6,' a game that may or may not be real. The page for Grand Taking Ages 6 seems to have gone live around December 7, featuring AI-generated art reminiscent of GTA 6 and a synopsis that suggests players will manage their own game studio simulation.

According to the description, players will 'run your dream game studio while juggling angry fans, corporate chaos, and endless delays. Fight your way through gaming conventions, dodge ruthless journalists, and master the art of creative excuses.' The game is humorously slated for a May 2025 release. The page also includes fake reviews from GameSpot, IGN, and PC Gamer, supposedly from a 'parallel universe where the game is already out.' It humorously dedicates the game to players who didn't live long enough to see its release, adding that 'PS6 doesn't exist yet, but by the time some games release, it probably will.'

While a game developer tycoon game could be an interesting indie title, this parody appears to lack a real game behind it. IGN points out that the developer listed, Violarte sp. z o. O., recently launched an official site featuring 'fake games and awards as well as what look like fake employees visualized either with stock photos or generative AI.' This seems to be a joke, raising questions about how it passed review before being listed on PSN. Meanwhile, the first trailer for GTA 6 recently celebrated its one-year anniversary without a follow-up. A Rockstar developer promised 'absolutely mind-blowing things' in the sequel while accepting GTA 6's Most Anticipated Game award at the Golden Joysticks. Just under a month ago, Rockstar confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6 remains on track for a Fall 2025 release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
