Abu Dhabi is the capital of the United Arab Emirates and also one of the most popular choices for tourists around the world.
Abu Dhabi represents a unique combination of modern architecture with elements of oriental style. The city offers recreation opportunities for every taste: here you can visit a huge shopping mall and have a shopping spree, dine in a luxurious gourmet restaurant or spend time at a resort sunbathing on beautiful beaches.
First time visitors to Abu Dhabi will notice that the city has incorporated the best elements of modern tourism. There are many five-star hotels with uniquely designed rooms.
Do travelers arriving from Russia need to comply with quarantine when entering Abu Dhabi?
In 2021, all passengers from the Russian Federation had to submit to a PCR test for COVID-19 upon arrival in Abu Dhabi. If positive, passengers also had to undergo a mandatory ten-day post-arrival quarantine. If the test was negative, no quarantine was required.
The situation has changed for the better. Since November 8, 2022 Abu Dhabi has updated the Green List of countries. So, the authorities of Abu Dhabi canceled the requirement to provide a PCR test and a certificate of vaccination to enter the country, including for Russia. We will tell you more about this below.
What is the Green List?
The so-called "Green List" is a list of countries from which tourists can enter or leave the UAE without having to undergo quarantine. The list was compiled by the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism.
The list of Green List countries is regularly updated, and in November 2022 Abu Dhabi was expanded. Now the list includes Russia, so now all quarantine restrictions have been removed for Russian tourists. Now, on arrival in Abu Dhabi, you can immediately go for a walk around the city, to a shopping center or to a business meeting.

Rules of entry to the UAE for Russian tourists
Russian citizens do not need a visa to enter the UAE. Travelers arriving from the Russian Federation can stay in the country for up to 90 days within six months. It is also possible to extend the visa for 30 days. During the year, the total time of stay in the UAE can be 180 days, provided you have a valid passport. The validity of the passport must be at least six months from the date of entry into the country.
You can extend your stay either by leaving the country and returning or by contacting the relevant UAE migration authorities.
When traveling with a child, the child must have their own passport. Also remember:
If the child is traveling without their parents or with someone who is not their legal representative, a notarized consent for the child to travel abroad will be required. The consent must be translated into English and also notarized.
If the child and the accompanying adult have different surnames, bring a notarized copy of the child's birth certificate in English.
