The individual who attempted to assassinate Donald Trump undertook a "sustained, detailed effort" to assault a significant event prior to choosing to aim at the Republican presidential nominee during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania in July, according to FBI officials on Thursday.
FBI officials identified the suspect as Thomas Crooks, 20, who conducted over 60 searches for details about the Republican presidential nominee and his Democratic opponent, President Joe Biden, before signing up for the Trump rally in early July.
