On Thursday, gunmen attacked a school van in Pakistan, resulting in the deaths of two girls and injuries to six others, including the driver, according to police reports.

The driver of the van, which was in Attock city within Punjab province, was specifically targeted in the attack, as stated by local police spokesperson Waseem Babar to AFP.

"Two children were killed and five children were injured when gunmen indiscriminately opened fire on a school van," Babar explained. He also mentioned that the assailants, who escaped the scene, were involved in ongoing court disputes with the driver's family, who was also injured in the incident.

The deceased girls were reported to be around 10 or 11 years old.
