The militant group Hamas has not withdrawn from ceasefire talks following this weekend's deadly Israeli attacks in Gaza, according to a senior official from the group on Sunday.
Izzat El Reshiq, a member of Hamas's political office, accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of attempting to undermine efforts by Arab mediators and the United States to achieve a ceasefire deal. Reshiq stated that the escalation in attacks by Netanyahu and his government is aimed at thwarting efforts to resolve the conflict.
Two Egyptian security sources involved in ceasefire talks in Doha and Cairo reported on Saturday that negotiations had been suspended after three days of intense discussions.
