Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Walz are set to tour several key battleground states following her highly anticipated debate with Republican former President Donald Trump on Tuesday, according to her campaign announcement on Sunday.

With the November 5 presidential election just under 60 days away, Vice-President Harris will commence the tour in North Carolina on Thursday and proceed to Pennsylvania on Friday. Meanwhile, Walz will visit Michigan and Wisconsin.

Recent polling averages indicate a close contest in the handful of states that could potentially swing either to Republicans or Democrats, ultimately determining the outcome of the election. These battleground states include Georgia, Wisconsin, and Arizona.

A pivotal moment for both Harris and Trump will be their televised debate, marking the first since President Joe Biden withdrew from the race and endorsed Harris as his successor on July 21. Harris' candidacy has revitalized Democrats and donors, leading to a surge in her opinion poll ratings. Her campaign raised an impressive $361 million in August, granting her a significant financial edge over Trump.
