Hazelight Studios has revealed that It Takes Two has surpassed 20 million copies sold since its launch in 2021, and the developer has hinted at the title of their upcoming project. On Twitter, director Josef Fares shared, "Receiving many inquiries about our next game. Here's a hint. It's a BRAND NEW IP named S**** ******N. Excited to unveil it soon." Hazelight Studios further teased with an image of a folder marked "NEW IP" in yellow, accompanied by a mysterious release date. The forthcoming game is set to be published by Electronics Arts once more under the EA Originals label. The exact timing for the reveal of Hazelight Studios' new game remains uncertain, though a likely venue could be The Game Awards 2024, given It Takes Two's Game of the Year win at The Game Awards 2021. In February 2023, Hazelight Studios announced that It Takes Two had reached over 10 million sales. In November 2022, Fares hinted that the studio's next title would astound players and exceed expectations. In GameSpot's review of It Takes Two, we noted, "Despite the sheer volume of activities, It Takes Two adeptly manages every mechanic. This marks Hazelight's second release, and while A Way Out garnered a loyal following, it seems that it takes two to truly perfect such a game."
