Due to varying intensities of rain and fluctuating temperatures, Saudi Arabia's Makkah has experienced heavy rainfall and thunder in recent days. The Civil Defence has warned residents about adverse weather conditions in certain areas of the country, which began on Wednesday and are forecast to persist until Sunday, August 8. The authority has issued a red warning due to the severe weather impacting the city. Residents and visitors are advised to avoid water pools, valley bottoms, and dams, and to remain cautious and follow instructions. Meanwhile, pilgrims in the holy city have continued their Umrah despite the heavy rains and thunder on Wednesday.
A video shared by Storm Centre shows lightning striking over the Grand Mosque while pilgrims perform Umrah on Tuesday night. Other provinces in the city also saw rains, resulting in mild flooding on roads.
