Eight individuals, including a woman and a three-year-old child, perished, and several others were injured due to heavy rainfall, flash floods, and roof collapses across the nation on Saturday.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) issued a warning about potential urban flooding in various cities due to the combination of heavy rain and strong winds. Media reports cited the NDMA alert, highlighting that multiple cities such as Lahore, Sialkot, and Narowal are at high risk of urban flooding from heavy downpours over the next 24 to 48 hours, with a medium to high-level flood surge anticipated in the Chenab River.

Officials also mentioned that Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur, and Multan could experience urban flooding, with an increased risk of flash floods in the mountainous streams of Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur. Flash floods impacted traffic on the Pak-Afghan Highway in Landikotal tehsil of Khyber district. Meanwhile, various districts in Balochistan have been affected by torrential rains, with flash floods entering homes and shops, and disrupting the communication system. The northeastern region of Balochistan, including Chaman, is currently under the influence of a powerful weather system.
