The Lebanese armed group Hezbollah announced on Thursday that it had launched a rocket attack on the northern Israeli town of Safed in retaliation for Israeli assaults on Lebanon.
"In defense of Lebanon and its citizens, and in response to the brutal Israeli attacks on cities, villages, and civilians in Lebanon, Hezbollah fighters fired 80 rockets at Safed," stated a Hezbollah release.
