Hideo Kojima has unveiled the title screen for Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, accompanied by a tantalizing teaser. However, fans should not get too attached to it just yet, as Kojima has clarified that the title screen is "still very much temporary." The current screen showcases the game's name along with a background image featuring Norman Reedus' character, Sam Porter, and a baby. The title screen options include "Continue," "New Game," "Load Game," "Options," and "Recap of Death Stranding." This last option could be particularly useful for those needing a refresher on the 2019 game's complex narrative, filled with twists, turns, and even Conan O'Brien.
In another update, Kojima shared an image of his work desk, featuring a very comfortable-looking chair. A second image seems to display multiple save files for Death Stranding 2. The sequel follows Sam and his companions on a new journey to save humanity from extinction. Players will navigate a world teeming with otherworldly enemies and obstacles, all while grappling with existential questions throughout the story, according to the game's description.
Norman Reedus reprises his lead role, while Lea Seydoux returns as Fragile. Troy Baker also comes back as Higgs. Newcomers Elle Fanning and Shioli Kutsuna join the cast in fresh roles. As for when more information about Death Stranding 2 might be revealed, that remains uncertain. Kojima unveiled the game at Geoff Keighley's The Game Awards in December 2022. Some anticipate further details to emerge at the 2024 edition of the event this December. Death Stranding 2 is slated for release on PS5 sometime in 2025. Additionally, Kojima is working on an Xbox-exclusive game titled OD and an espionage game called Physint.
