Hollywood is buzzing over Selena Gomez's engagement to Benny Blanco. After Gomez, 32, announced on Instagram that Blanco, 36, proposed following a year of dating, her celebrity friends quickly flooded the comments with messages of congratulations.

Taylor Swift, one of Gomez's closest friends, had a playful response. "Yes, I will be the flower girl," Swift, 34, wrote in the comments section. Other A-list stars also chimed in to celebrate the couple.

Jennifer Aniston wrote, "HONEY!! Congratulations sweet mama!" while Suki Waterhouse added, "Congratulations beauty!" Gwyneth Paltrow simply exclaimed, "SELENAAAAA." Olivia Wilde commented with four heart emojis, and Nina Dobrev said, "YES!!! Congratulations!! So happy for you both!!"

Cardi B expressed her surprise, writing, "Waiiitttt hold on." Lily Collins, on the other hand, was ecstatic, commenting, "Ahhhhhh yes yes yes!! Best news ever," and adding, "Couldn't be more happy for both of you."

Other stars who congratulated the couple by liking Gomez's post included Reese Witherspoon, Jessica Simpson, Hilary Duff, John Legend, Jennifer Garner, Dua Lipa, Katy Perry, Ryan Seacrest, and Paris Hilton.

Gomez announced her engagement by sharing a series of photos on Instagram, showcasing her dazzling engagement ring. In one photo, the former Disney Channel star is seen sitting on a picnic blanket on what appears to be a soundstage, surrounded by a Taco Bell spread and champagne. Another photo captures Blanco kissing Gomez's forehead as she smiles and flashes her new ring.

"Forever begins now..." Gomez captioned her post. Blanco, whose full name is Benjamin Joseph Levin, also left a playful comment: "Hey wait... that's my wife."

Since going live, Gomez's post has garnered over 11 million likes. The couple has been dating for at least a year and a half. Selena confirmed the rumors about their relationship in December 2023 by commenting "facts" on an Instagram post from Pop Factions speculating that they were an item.

The couple made their red carpet debut at the Emmy Awards in January. In an interview with Time, Gomez opened up about her relationship with Blanco, explaining why she is protective of their bond. "I know what people can do to people I love. My own fans, who I adore and feel like have shaped who I am, will say the most hurtful things to me about how I live my life," she said. "But he has the strength in him that none of that noise fazes him," Gomez added about Blanco. "It's really impressive, and I just cherish every moment with him."

She also briefly touched on their future together, stating, "I don't know what the future holds, but I do know that he's not going anywhere anytime soon."

Gomez's engagement comes just days after she received two Golden Globe nominations: one for her role in the Hulu comedy series "Only Murders in the Building" and another for her performance in the crime musical "Emilia Perez."
