Have you recently committed a traffic violation in the UAE and received a fine from the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai? Or are you unsure about how to check your driving record for any violations? Don't worry. The UAE, especially Dubai, has made significant progress in becoming a smart city through its digital initiatives. Motorists from the UAE and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries can now conveniently check and pay their traffic fines using digital platforms.

With Dubai's digital transformation, you can stay updated on your fines and enjoy a stress-free driving experience in Dubai and the UAE. Here's a quick guide on how to check and pay your fines online in four simple steps.

Process

First, visit the RTA website (https://traffic.rta.ae) to check your fine. Click 'start' to begin. You have four options to check your fine: through your number plate details, licence number, fine number, or traffic code number.

Number Plate Details

If you're checking through your number plate, select an option from the 'Plate Source' segment. You'll find options for the seven emirates in the UAE—Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Umm Al Quwain—as well as GCC countries like Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Egypt, Iraq, and Libya. Next, choose the 'Plate Category' from options such as private, motorcycle, Dubai Police, taxi, public transportation, and more. Then, select the 'Plate Code' (K, N, T, W, Z, etc.) based on your 'Plate Category'. Enter your number plate details and click 'search'.

Licence Number

If you're using your licence number, enter the 'Licence Source' (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, etc.) and your 'Driving Licence Number'. Then, click 'search'.

Fine Number

For checking through the fine number, enter the 'Fine Number', choose the 'Fine Source' (Abu Dhabi Municipality, RTA, Dubai Police, etc.), and select the 'Fine Year'. Click 'search'.

Traffic Code Number

If you're checking through the traffic code number, enter your traffic file number and click 'search'.

Review Your Results

Once you have the necessary details, review the fine.

Confirm

After reviewing the fine details, click 'confirm'.

Payment

Proceed to make the payment. You'll need your traffic file number, the date of birth of the licence holder, and either a valid GCC credit card or a valid debit card to complete the payment.

(Please note: Information is subject to change. Check the RTA website for updates.)
