China's Huang Yuting and Sheng Lihao secured the inaugural gold medal at the Paris Games on Saturday in the 10 metres air rifle mixed team event. South Korea's Keum Ji-hyeon and Park Ha-jun took silver, while Kazakhstan's Alexandra Le and Islam Satpayev earned bronze. This victory marks a continuation of China's success in the event, following Yang Qian and Yang Haoran's gold in Tokyo three years ago. As reigning world champions, Huang and Sheng led the qualifying round, ahead of their Korean counterparts at the Chateauroux Shooting Centre. Although they initially surged ahead 14-8, the final round was challenging. Keum and Park mounted a spirited comeback, narrowing the deficit to 14-12, but the Chinese duo ultimately triumphed 16-12. Meanwhile, Le and Satpayev ensured Kazakhstan's first medal at the Paris Games with a decisive 17-5 victory over Germany's Anna Janssen and Maximilian Ulbrich.
