Hull City has officially announced the departure of Tim Walter as head coach. The struggling Championship team's 2-0 loss to Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday marked their ninth consecutive match without a victory, leaving them in the relegation zone.

The club released a statement saying, “Hull City can confirm we have parted company with head coach Tim Walter with immediate effect. Assistant head coaches Julian Hubner and Filip Tapalovic have also left the club.” First-team coach Andy Dawson will assume interim charge while the club conducts a comprehensive search for a permanent replacement.

“We would like to thank Tim, Julian, and Filip for their efforts during their time at the MKM Stadium and wish them well for the future,” the statement added. Walter was appointed in late May following the contentious dismissal of Liam Rosenior, who had guided the club to a seventh-place finish. The German coach managed only three wins in his 18 games in charge and has been relieved of his duties for the second time this year, having been previously dismissed by Hamburg in February.
