Hungary assistant coach Adam Szalai reported that he was fine after collapsing and being rushed to the hospital just minutes after the start of his country's Nations League match against the Netherlands in Amsterdam.

The former Bundesliga striker took to social media to express gratitude for the messages of support he received and assured everyone that he was doing well. Szalai, 36, collapsed on the bench seven minutes into the match at the Johan Cruyff Stadium. He was seen lying on the ground next to the team's bench with his legs twitching, while staff and substitutes quickly formed a protective barrier around him. The match was delayed for 13 minutes, and Szalai was transported by ambulance to the hospital.

"Adam is conscious, can talk, and everything is in order," coach Marco Rossi informed the post-match press conference. "The referee asked us if we wanted to continue playing, and my players said they did." Hungary captain Dominik Szoboszlai gathered his players for a discussion on the pitch before they agreed to resume the game.

Szalai, a former captain of the Hungarian team, was appointed assistant coach earlier this year. He scored 26 goals in 86 international appearances for Hungary and had a notable club career in Germany with Mainz, Schalke 04, and Hoffenheim. The Dutch team won the match 4-0, securing a spot in the Nations League quarter-finals next March. The Netherlands are currently second in Group A3, five points behind Germany, who achieved their largest Nations League victory with a 7-0 win over Bosnia.

In other matches, Iceland defeated Montenegro 2-0, Georgia drew 1-1 with Ukraine, and Albania faced a goalless draw against the Czech Republic. Azerbaijan earned their first point in the Nations League campaign with a goalless draw against Estonia, while Sweden secured a 2-1 win over Slovakia. Moldova managed a late 1-0 victory over Andorra.
