The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed that discussions are ongoing to resolve the uncertainty surrounding next year's Champions Trophy, according to sources who spoke to AFP. This comes after India declined to participate in the tournament hosted by Pakistan. The event's status has been in limbo since earlier this month when the ICC announced India's refusal to travel to Pakistan for the eight-team competition. The two nations, which have a history of conflict since their partition in 1947, often see their rivalry play out on the cricket field. A meeting held by the ICC in Dubai on Friday was adjourned without reaching a decision, as per sources familiar with the talks who were not authorized to speak to the media. "All parties are continuing to work towards a positive resolution," one source stated, indicating that the board is expected to reconvene in the coming days. The Pakistan Cricket Board has previously dismissed suggestions of India playing in a neutral third country, insisting that the entire schedule from February 19 to March 9 must take place in Pakistan. Another source revealed that "Pakistan's stance remains unchanged" following the brief meeting on Friday.
