India is contemplating an increase in the domestic prices of ethanol and sugar, according to the food minister, who spoke on Thursday. This move is aimed at enhancing local supplies within the country. Reuters recently reported that India, which is the world's largest sugar producer after Brazil, is planning to extend a ban on sugar exports and raise the price at which oil companies purchase ethanol from sugar mills.
