Left-arm bowler Arshdeep Singh achieved a personal best with figures of 4-9, snaring two wickets in the opening over, as India triumphed over a determined USA team in their third T20 World Cup match in New York, securing a seven-wicket victory and advancing to the Super Eights Stage. After choosing to bowl first on a challenging pitch, India limited the co-hosts to 110 for eight and reached the target in 18.2 overs with three wickets down. USA's pace bowler Saurabh Netravalkar, known for his Super Over heroics against Pakistan, was exceptional again, removing Indian openers Virat Kohli (0) and Rohit Sharma (3) early on. Despite a shaky start with Rishabh Pant (18) departing at 44, Suryakumar Yadav (50 not out off 49 balls) and Shivam Dube (31 not out off 35 balls) anchored a crucial fourth-wicket stand to steer India to victory. This marked India's third consecutive win, following victories against Ireland and Pakistan. Netravalkar, born in Mumbai, ended with 4-0-18-2 but couldn't prevent India's win. Arshdeep struck early, dismissing Shayan Jahangir lbw off the first ball and catching Andries Gous (two) in the deep, leaving the hosts at 3-2. Aaron Jones, who scored an unbeaten 94 against Canada, managed just 11 before falling to Hardik Pandya, making it 25-3. Steven Taylor (24) and top-scorer Nitish Kumar (27) added 31 for the fourth wicket, with Nitish caught by Mohammed Siraj. Corey Anderson (15) was caught by Pant off Pandya, who completed a wicket-maiden. Arshdeep then caught Harmeet Singh behind for 10. Shadley van Schalkwyk (11) and Jasdeep Singh (two) helped the USA reach a respectable total on a tough pitch. India's batters eventually found their rhythm, with Yadav and Dube sealing the win.
