India has removed all non-essential personnel and their families from its embassy and consulates in neighboring Bangladesh, according to two sources within the Indian government, on Wednesday. This move comes after several weeks of turmoil compelled Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to resign and leave the country. The sources further stated that all Indian diplomats continue to be present in Bangladesh, and the missions are operating normally. In addition to the high commission or embassy in Dhaka, the capital, India maintains assistant high commissions or consulates in Chittagong, Rajshahi, Khulna, and Sylhet.
