India remains in high spirits following their victory in the T20 World Cup, but captain Rohit Sharma emphasized on Thursday the importance of maintaining focus for their upcoming match against Sri Lanka. Both Rohit and star player Virat Kohli opted out of the recent 3-0 series sweep, announcing their retirement from 20-over cricket after securing India's first international trophy in over ten years. They are now returning to the field for the first time since the Barbados final in June, kicking off a series of three ODIs in Colombo on Friday.

"It was an incredible feeling," Rohit shared with the press. "We must now look forward. It's time to shift our focus to what's ahead." He stressed, "We're not here just to relax in Colombo. Ultimately, the quality of Indian cricket is what matters most." Rohit also expressed his dilemma regarding the selection between wicketkeeping stalwarts K.L. Rahul and Rishabh Pant, the latter of whom has made a comeback to international cricket post a severe car accident and extended injury layoff.

"Both players have proven their worth in their unique ways," Rohit acknowledged. "They are indeed game-changers."
